Multi-Peril Crop Insurance

Coverage against unpredictable Natural Perils that affect your crops. These perils include adverse weather, fire (due to natural causes), insects*, plant disease*, wildlife, failure of irrigation water supply caused by an insured cause of loss.

*Insect or plant disease damage cannot be due to insufficient or improper application of pest or disease control measures.

Crop Hail Insurance

Protects your crop against hail, fire, vandalism and transportation to the first place of storage.

Other endorsements are available for coverage against wind, green snap, canning reject, extra harvest expense coverages, etc.

  • Easy Hail & Auto Hail policies attach to your Multi-Peril policy and are continuous unless changed or cancelled.
  • Crop Hail policies allow you to elect your hail insurance yearly but do not auto-renew each year.

Convenient Tips

  • Farmers can certify their crop acreage electronically to the FSA office by utilizing “farmers.gov portal”. This portal allows farmers to enroll in farm programs, submit data to the FSA and certify their acres. https://www.farmers.gov/
  • Once your grain is in storage, it needs to be added to your farm property policy. Remember to contact your agent with the amount of bushels you have stored. 
  • The following link can be used to look at projected spring and harvest prices for revenue policies. These prices are subject to change and are not final until set by the RMA on the applicable date.
